Bolton Wanderers record signing and folk hero, Dean Holdsworth, has been told by Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce that he is free to find a new club during the summer despite there being a year remaining on his contract.

Holdsworth has been disappointed at the lack of first team oppurtunities that came his way last season and that on top of personal problems due to the rest of his family living in London has meant that Holdsworth, despite his love of Bolton Wanderers and it's supporters, has seeked a move closer to home. Allardyce believes there is not much point in standing in the way of Deano's wishes and has told him he is happy for him to find another club so that he is happier although Big Sam admitted he will gladly take Holdsworth back if he is unable to find a new club.
Rumour has it that Holdsworth cried in to his Bolton shirt last Saturday in the final game of the season away to West Ham as he knew it was ultimately his last game for the club he has grown to love since signing for a record £3.5 million in the autumn of 1997 from Wimbledon.
