A controlled and confident performance from a strong Bolton Wanderers line up saw off the challenge of Italian outfit Hellas Verona in a pre-season friendly at the Reebok Stadium tonight.

A disappointing crowd of only 3,993 turned out at the Reebok Stadium for the only home pre-season friendly.
However those who turned out weren't disappointed as Bolton turned in an assured performance on their way to a comfortable 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Youri Djorkaeff and young striker Jonathan Walters.
Verona defender Gianluca Colluci was sent off after kicking the ball at the assistant referee in frustration following Djorkaeff's opening goal.
