When it was confirmed that Marcello Marrocco would be out injured for a number of months, Ivano immediately contacted Massimo to come in as a replacement.
The 33 year old full back has had a long and distinguished career back in Italy, where he has played for Venezia, Chievo, Bologna and Vicenza.
He has spent the last three seasons at Vicenza playing in Serie A.
Initally signed until the end of the season on a short term deal, it looks like he may be offered a longer stay as he has shown great stamina to last the speed of the Scottish game.
