Flying right winger or right full back signed from Argentine club San Lorenzo in the summer of 2000 for a record £300,000 fee.
Javier had starred in a loan spell at Dens including a stunning show in the last derby of season 99/00 when city rivals Dundee United simply couldn't cope with his athleticism and pace (Partrige and Worrell are still rumoured to be undergoing counselling).
He also opened his scoring account for the Dee's with the winner at Aberdeen in injury time in February 2000.
Started his career at Real Madrid.
Became the clubs record signing when his loan move was made permanent at the end of that season.
On the eve of the start of this season Javier was diagnosed as suffering from Multiple Slerocsis, whoever has shown his fighting spirit by refusing to give in and returned to first team action towards the end of 2001.
