Ivano Bonetti signed Argentinian Beto Garrido on loan from Spanish side Lerida in February 2001, initially on loan until the end of the season.
However, by the end of the season was snapped up on a longer term deal.
Beto started his career at Boca Juniors in Argentina (where he played alongside Beto Carranza) before getting a first taste of European football at French side Bastia, he then moved on to a spell in Italian football with Pristina, before arriving in La Liga in Spain with Lerida.
He is a left sided midfielder or defender.
While at Bastia in France, Beto also played alongside Celtic's Lubo Moravcik helping them win the Intertoto Cup in a win over SV Hamburg.
