Stories needed during the summer break
As you all know Leipy does a wonderful job with match previews and reports throughout the season. However we still need a steady feed of stories in the close season to prevent the site going inactive which happens automatically if new content isn't posted regularly.
There must be some of you out there with something others would be interested in - ether serious, funny or controversial. It doesn't hae to be long, a few paragraphs would be fine.
If anyone can help please send your articles to either leipy or touchline who will put them up on the site.

Could anyone who was at Premier Meats at Kingston Park on Saturday when the Falcons were cooking tell me what the food was like they cooked also who won.

I've got an ongoing "discussion", very one sided because they aren't replying, but did you know that Newcastle Council are the only council in the North East that charge for parking within their CPZ (Controlled Parking Zone) on a Sunday. In fact you can only park on Xmas Day free of charge in Newcastle, not even on Bank Holidays!
Contrast that with Sunderland which is free on a Sunday and all their surface level car parks are also free! Durham, Free, Middlesboro Free. London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham all free. Why is Newcastle different. You are also restricted to one hour maximum on the Newcastle parking meters. ON A SUNDAY WHEN THE TOWN IS EMPTY! No wonder nobody parks in Grey Street, Dean Street etc. on a Sunday when you are restricted to ONE HOUR and it's £2.30/£1.70 respectively, on a SUNDAY when the rest of the country (with the odd exception like Brighton or Liverpool for some reason), is FREE! Why is Newcastle so draconian with its parking? Beats me!

Geordie205Gti - good work chap! ...it's also worth noting that the cost of parking in the ground is horrendous! And we wonder why attendances are reducing!!

Rugbyyears - I have a "one man campaign" on the scandal of parking charges in Newcastle. I've just sent a "tome" to Look North, about 10 mins ago funnily enough. To quote someone special, "I'd love it", if they would put the council on the spot and expose them for the penny pinchers they are! You can only park for a max of One Hour on their parking meters as well! Hardly attracting people into the city for lunch and shopping etc. is it! They'll tell you that it's a very congested city centre, hence they have to charge, but not on a Sunday it ain't. It makes me honk!
