Alex Hearle makes his first start for Newcastle Falcons

Alex Hearle makes his first start for Newcastle Falcons on Saturday when they travel to his former club, Gloucester.   The winger comes in for the 3pm Gallagher Premiership kick-off at Kingsholm as the Falcons try to build on last week’s home win over Exeter Chiefs, with Newcastle’s starting XV otherwise unchanged.     

Fit-again Brett Connon and Sebastian de Chaves are added to the bench, with director of rugby Steve Diamond keen to ensure that last weekend’s result is just the start of their resurgence.

“It was important we got our first win just to start and change the narrative that had developed around us, but to be fair I thought we played well,” said the Falcons boss.
