Ones to watch: Festive fixtures

In the season of giving gifts, Gallagher PREM is following suit with fans being treated to some huge festive matches. With the race for The Play-Offs already piping hot – just like your roast potatoes on Christmas Day – Round 7 and 8 is set to ramp things up even further. So, when you need a break from the wrapping, posting, eating and drinking, here are three Yuletide delights for you to enjoy…

Bath Rugby v Northampton Saints – Saturday 27th December – 17:30

The last game of 2025 sees the two most recent champions of England pitted against one another at The Rec.

There are heavyweight matchups everywhere you look in this fixture, with Lions teammates Finn Russell and Fin Smith topping the bill with their battle at fly-half.

England head coach Steve Borthwick will have an eye on how Alex Mitchell and Ben Spencer fair at scrum-half and then there’s the Henry Pollock factor.

The mercurial talent is never more than a moment away from producing something magical and who better to conjure up a match-turning moment against than last season’s crème de la crème?

It is very possible this will be a dress rehearsal for the post-season scrap for honours and both teams will be looking to get one over on the other.
