Red Bulls give best performance of the season

With thanks to one of our contributors Phil here is a match report from yesterday when we nearly got another win but did show some signs of life Saturday afternoon saw Newcastle Red Bulls return to Gallagher Prem action as they travelled to take on Northampton Saints. Things didn't start well for Red Bulls when Brett Connon kicked dead from kick off. From the resulting scrum Saints found the edge far too easily and Archie McParland scored, converted by Bellau to take a 7-0 lead. The signs were ominous at this point.
Red Bulls were next to score when clean lineout ball allowed them to play and go wide again. Harrison Obatoyinbo got the ball and did brilliantly to round the defender to score, Connon missed the conversion but Red Bulls lead 7-12

Bring on the Chiefs!
We took the ball off a solid scrum and made 30 yards by simple hands. Stuff we didn’t see before as we never made the gain line previously. Little steps but that’s now putting defences to work properly.
I attended last weeks Rugby Foundation business breakfast and Stephen Jones spoke about the culture at the club and how engaged and open minded the current group are.
John Fletcher did a presentation on the academy pathway.
All very positive and exciting!!
As for Mel Magee and her team at the foundation - just an amazing group of people having a huge impact on so many young lives!!
