Tough Task At Falcons

Brad Shields will be allowed to lead his teammates at Kingston Park after the authorities ruled his red card against Bristol was punishment enough  for what were two yellow card offences.

It's good news as we take to the plastic turf to confront a home side which ran Quins close in their first game and then surprised a few by winning at Bath last week.

We've got spome fliers in our ranks who are well suited to the surface - namely Ali Crossdale at full back and Josh Bassett and Marcus Watson on the wings. However, as Mr Shields will tell his pack, you can't run amok if you havent got the ball.

In the backs, Man-of-the-match Ali Crossdale is at full back, with Josh Bassett and Marcus Watson on the wings. Inside them Dan Robson and Jacob Umaga link up at half-back once more.

Sam Spink will make his debut  at outside centre in place of Malakai Fekitoa whil will be oiut form some time with his shoulder injury. The other change, sees Jimmy Gopperth come in  fro the injured Michael Le Bourgeois.

Wasps: 15 Ali Crossdale 14 Marcus Watson  13 Sam Spink 12 Jimmy Gopperth 11 Josh Bassett 10 Jacob Umaga 9 Dan Robson  Robin Hislop 2 Tom Cruse

3 Jeff Toomaga-Allen 4 Vaea Fifita 5 Elliott Stooke 6 Brad Shields  (captain) 7 Gabriel Oghre 8 Tom Willis.)

Reps: 16 Dan Frost 17 Tom West 18 Biyi Alo 19 Tim Cardall 20 Ben Morris 21 Will Porter 22 Will Simonds 23 Zach Kibirige

Great news for Spink - he showed real potential when he played. Let’s hope he can string together a few strong performances.

Pleased to see West back - one of those key players on the injury list.

Now my only question is how & when did Minozzi & Miller get back on the injury list?

Given his family bereavement, it’s completely understandable why Carr wasn’t selected. Difficult timing given he’s just left SA. Poor fella.

Really like the balance of our selections, and looking forward to seeing Spink get a chance. Both teams have some absolute speedsters so it’ll be great see how our back 3 can go this week - also It’ll be interesting to see if we can contain Radwan.

But it’ll be the work rate of the boys up front who will decide this one methinks.
