Losing Start

A youthful Wasps team stung Falcons in the first half of the Premiership Cup game at Kingston Park but eventuially lost out 34-27.

We were leading 24-17 at half time after Falcons went ahead when Luke Mehson saw yellow for a deliberate knock-on with the experienced Alex Tait scoring in the corner.

Olly Hartley responded with a great individual effort converted by Tommy Matthews who followed up with a penalty..

Falcons scored another try but once again Wasps responded through No. 8 James Tunney and Michael van Vuuren finished off a pick and go.

Sadly, that was the end ofour try scoring but not the drama. In the closing stages we were just wide woth a drop goal attempt with the scores level allowing Falcons to seal the game with the very last play - Gary Graham breaking from the back of a maul.
