Late Push

Wasps are the form team of the Premiership - but is it  little too late to grab that play-off place., Three straight victories on top of an eight match unbeaten home run have certainly turned the season round in Lee Blackett's favour. However,  with only three games left Wasps find themselves six points behind Saints who currently occupy that last play-off position.

Tom West and  Josh Bassett scored tries in the first half with Jimmy Gopperth's trusty boot adding another five.

A brace from Gabriel Oghre, as well as tries from Elliott Stooke, Jacob Umaga and Tom Willis kept the home crowd entertained with  Harri Doel and Ted Hill getting Wuss's consolations.

Lee Blackett's aftermatch comment:

"Overall I am pleased, we won with five points. It was good to see the way the game went at the end as we came away with two tries.

"I said a couple of weeks ago, it will always take time to gel. Sometimes we're not very patient, you expect it to click straight away as soon as you get some guys back and some key guys back."

Probably a bit too late to grab a play off place - next season though?

Definitely next season.

If we finish 6th I will be happy.

Wasps [57] are 6 points behind Saints [63].

Where does the 15 come from?

Bath capitulating in the 2nd half at the weekend didn’t help our cause!

Agreed ….. but 2 from 3 should give us top 6 which I’d be happy with. Exeter and LI both still have a game to miss.

I'd settle for 6th and no more injuries.

Hope I'm wrong but I can only see us winning one of our last three matches, but which might just be enough to get us top 8. Beat Irish and Sale and we could squeeze into 6th depending on other results.

We will beat Tigers. I feel it in my water.

Playoffs impossible now after Saints win last night …. Keeping Exeter out f the Top 6 below us would do me.

Well after Saints and Sale winning last night, it is now imperative that we beat Irish tomorrow. Anything less and our chance of a top 8 finish would be very slim.
