So Where Did The Dosh All Go?

Did you buy any DW merchandise over the last 12 months? Wonder where the profis have gone to? Well, read on to see what we have done with it all.

Those people who have wisely contributed to the Drunken Wasps funds by purchasing garments, flags, pins, and just generally slinging money our way have done so under the anticipation that the phrase “all profits to go towards supporting Junior Rugby” would actually happen, and that the cash wouldn’t go towards my youngest child’s school fees.

Well, minds can now be set at rest. The deed is done.

A cheque for £1400 has been posted to Wasps FC, and will be used for the following items.

Two complete kits, one home, one away, will be purchased from Kukri for one of the youth sides. The away strip will be black with white collars, the home will be black and gold hoops with white collars. This uses up about £800.

We have agreed £200 to be used to cover the costs of sending four coaches on RFU training courses specifically to improve youth coaching at Wasps FC.

The remaining amount will be used to supply “Manager’s Bags” for all of the youth sides. These will be full medical kits, supplemented with spare laces, shorts, spanners, etc. – everything that experience has shown needs to be taken along with a youth side to a fixture.

In due course, John Langley, Wasps FC President, will be making his thoughts known to you all. In the meantime, all of you that coughed up can walk around that little bit taller today, knowing the money has gone somewhere worthwhile – as promised.

The fund will continue, and at such time as we are in a position to make another significant donation, we’ll let everyone know.
