Drunken Lunch Excursion Calvisano, December 2003

This excursion is open to all, but has to be taken as part of the inclusive Saturday package, due to transport restrictions, unless you are prepared to make your own way to and from the restaurant.

Exact timings are yet to be confirmed, and depend upon release of kick off times as yet unknown. We are assuming a KO in the region of 1900hrs on Saturday for planning purposes. If this proves not to be the case, event timings will be adjusted to suit.

We plan to leave the vinyard at approximately 1345hrs and make our way through the countryside up to the town of Iseo, about 10k to the NNE of Capriolo and on the southern end of Lake Garda. Here we take lunch at the splendidly situated Restaurant Vineria Pa’ e Salam overlooking the lake. It will be a four course meal, with wine and water, plus coffee. I am investigating a vegetarian main course, The menu looks like:

Appetizers (Montisola salami, “Coppa”, Parma ham, Brescia lard, Fresh regional biological pickled vegetables, Vegetables omelette);

A Risotto with Porcini mushrooms and Castelmagno cheese;

Fresh rosy tender beef with oil and rosemary and Veal with thin greens, accompanied by Side dishes;

The House dessert.

Also included is water and half a bottle of wine per person. Please make sure that you settle your own bill for any additional items you might wish to partake!
