As Alex's Benefit Year Supporters' Dinner draws near, KevinTheB introduces the game plan for the evening. Tickets are all sold out - the demand for this has been very high this year. Those lucky people who managed to get one - here's what you can expect to enjoy.

Alex’s Curry Night is fast approaching – so here is a rough programme of events of what you can expect to happen – as with all pre-match game plans, things can be expected to change if the opposition comes up with something unexpected!
DRESS CODE : Smart Casual (and please don't start Dick Curtis off again about the paper hats!!)
7pm Doors open to guests. As you arrive, you will be met by one of the “team” and directed to where you should collect your commemorative name badge, and there should be one for each guest in your party. These will help you identify people off the message boards, and also help the players with your name when you talk to them inside.
Alex will be there to say hello to you – please don’t hang around too long as others will want to say hello as well! There will be plenty of time during the rest of the evening to have a chat.
You will be pointed to the bar, where free beer and soft drinks will be available. Wine and spirits will be available at extra charge.
Other members of the “team” will be on hand to help you find out where your seats are. Remember that tables are organised by menu.
There will be copies of Alex’s Benefit Year Brochure available, and buying one gets you a free ticket to the raffle. One of the brochures will be secretly marked to win an extra prize on the evening.
Alex’s T-Shirts will also be on sale.
7:45 Peter Scrivener will ask you to start getting seated
8:00 The first course will be served. A hint from last year – it will not be a short course – there will be enough food served for most people’s main course, so leave some room for the mains yet to come!
9:00 The Main Courses will be served.
9:30 Once the “team” have eaten their dinner, they will circulate around the tables, collecting any free raffle tickets given out with brochures and also any extra ones you have bought. Raffle tickets will be on the tables, and will cost £5 each or 5 for £20.
Mike Tully will say a few words introducing the John Langley Fund – Alex has very happily agreed to allow donations to this fund to be collected at his dinner.
10:00 As close to the end of dessert as we can get it, the programme of entertainment will commence. This will include a special video compilation of moments from Alex’s career; an appearance from impressionist Stevie Williams, some words from Barney Burnham, drawing the raffle and an auction of a special item. Finally there will be some well chosen words from Alex himself.
11:00 After the meal and the “formal” entertainment, the bar will remain open at least until midnight, to enable you to mingle with the players present and get some words with Alex and other friends you might not have seen for a long while. The “team” will take this opportunity to relax! We expect the free beer to continue!
We are all looking forward to meeting you – make sure you get there nice and early and we would be grateful if you could help us get you in the event by behaving yourselves at the badge collection point!
