Now I am nearly 9 and have been going to see The Boys at LI since I was 3, when I used to watch Uncle Michael, Justin (the legend), Phil (who Mummy loved) and Barry, I think I am big enough to do a match report.

BEFORE THE MATCH
I have been to Vicarage road before but because it was cold and we didn’t get very nice seats I don’t often go there, Dobbin goes every time because she likes Sarries and remembers great times watching Michael play there, she also talks a lot about when Barry got a penalty right at the end of the match and LI won.
This time I especially wanted to go because Gavin is playing, I liked him on Strictly and I wanted to see if he really is orange! So Dobbin bought me a ticket for my birthday. We are sitting in the South stand because Dobbin’s Sarrie friend 1876-Fez said it was a good place to sit. Later we found out most of our LI friends are in the North stand, it does not matter because Mummy and Dobbin sing and shout and make a lot of noise all on their own!
Dan r43 does not like it when Dobbin sings Stand Up for The Saracens but I don’t expect she’ll sing that one today because LI are her REAL favourite team and she only likes Sarries when they are playing other teams.
I am very sad because Tom is not playing, he is my favourite LI player ever and I love him very much. He told me last week his leg still hurts and he won’t be back for a few weeks yet. This is bad because Mr Johnson is making Delon rest, this makes us cross, we would not mind if Mr Johnson let Delon play but he usually makes him sit on the bench and watch Ben Foden do his job. So Chris is going to be fullback, I like him because he is Australian like Peter. It might be good that it is not Delon because if he makes a mistake Dobbin calls him names and starts going on about Michael again. I think she likes Delon really though because if he does something good she says” I’ve always been fond of Delon, lovely boy!”
I really hope we win today because it has been a long time since we won and it makes me sad when people complain and say mean and nasty things about Toby and The Boys. I don’t like it when they look sad at the end of the match and nobody is smiling.
A bad thing happened just before kick off when the Sarries were warming up the ball hit my poor little sister Daisy and hurt her face (a little bit) and hand (a lot). She cried but was brave and still shouted when the LI boys came on the pitch and used her other hand to wave the flag.
THE MATCH.
I don’t really know too much about what goes on in the match as sometimes it is quite hard to see and I don’t have Sky or ESPN to watch it again when I get home. I do know when we get a try or if the other team scores and that we have to be quiet when players take kicks.
These are my notes I did most of them myself but Dobbin and Mummy said a few bits.
Gavin Number 22.
At 40 LI went on the pitch. The drums are noisy but not as good as ours. A good dump by Dan early on. George is waving his arms a lot; he must think he is Bob. Kick Dan, went out. Good save and slide by Maps. Good bit by Topsy.
Penalty for Sarries, hits post.
Captain Dodge, aka Princess Poppy talks a lot and waves his arms about. Maps, good again.
Penalty Sarries, baby Farrell hits post again.
Kick to touch by Maps. Gavin does a dance right in front of us, keeping warm.
I think Maps did something naughty. Sarries get penalty, ladies do a dance (not as good as Gav).

A good bit at the other end. Dobbin gets cross and sings Sarries song. Very good bit other end. Penalty Chris (Molly) scores.

Dodge/Poppy under the ball, unlucky Topsy. Good bit other end, penalty Chris kicks.
6-3, keep it going IRISH!
Bad bit this end. Penalty to Sarries, daddy Farrell gives baby Farrell a bottle and baby Farrell gets it.

Gav does another nice little dance and Dobbin goes on a bit about Gavin.
Good bit other end. Gavin tries to climb over fence; Mummy says he is trying to escape because he had heard Dobbin!
Ryan does a dance, not as good as Gav but we still love him. Mum says Adam looks tasty!
Dodge yapping a lot, get the ball in. Scum this end, go Dodge! They get it, bad. On and off for Sarries, no Gav. Weird bit of juggling in the middle, Sarries drop it, small scrap, Mummy and Dobbin shout a lot.
Penalty Irish, Chris misses.
HALF TIME 6-6.
40 again and Irish come on. No Gav.
Baby Farrell knocks Dan over. Fluffy Thorpe does a good bit in line out and gets the ball. I think Maps was a bit naughty again.
LI get a penalty but Chris misses it, oh dear.
Heffalump, Darren and Paulica come on, Fluffy, Fann and Dodge go off. Bad bit other end, Sarries get penalty.
9-6.
Dan off, Ryan red boots on. Sarries winning, boo.
Clark on, Alex off. Sarries swap some but still no Gav
Penalty Sarries 12-6, oh no!
Bad bit other end. A good kick from Ryan.
5 minutes from the end GAVIN on, Dobbin and Mummy cheer and shout.
Very good bit this end from our boys, Mum and Dobbin go mad, another good bit this end, Mum and Dobbin go even more mad but the Sarries get the ball and kick it out.
The end, not a good game.
Mummy and Dobbin were very disappointed that Gavin did not take his shirt off like he did on Strictly; I expect it was too cold but he should have got used to that on 71degees North.
If you want to know a bit more about the match you can read about it in the papers or on the offy site or you could chat to Shawshank, PV, SteveS and some others on the message board because they know everything about rugby.
Sam r43, Bisach or Cheffy will tell you how good the referee was because they know lots about that sort of thing. It is good that they can tell us what they think because if Toby or Mr Catt told us what they REALLY think they might get told off like Dr Venter. I quite liked the one today but he is not as handsome as Mr Barnes or the South African one that Mummy and Dobbin like.
AFTER THE MATCH
The Sarries supporters were very nice and we had a good time, they were not like the nasty Quins man who sat behind us at Twickenham and kept calling The Boys cheats and talking about downward spirals (whatever they are). We had a very nice steward called Riad near us; he was lovely and friendly.
We went to the front to wave at The Boys, Ryan waved at us and George came and gave Dobbin a hug, Dobbin was very happy. Then we went to wait and see Gavin and our boys.

Richard came and said hello and Dobbin got another hug and a kiss. Then Gavin came out he was very nice, quiet and shy, I gave him a picture I made him and he said thank you. Mummy and Dobbin took some photos of him with Daisy and me. He is nice and he is a bit orange!
Dobbin was pleased because she got a chance to say goodbye to Dr Venter before he goes back to South Africa.
We also had a nice chat with Sailosi and his brother; Mummy and Dobbin think they are more handsome than Gavin and told Sailosi’s brother he should come and play for Irish.
So The Boys didn’t win again, this is bad but we had a lovely day out and as another special friend of mine called RIKI once said “It’s only a game”.

I know we were sat in the North stand this time, but reading it made it seem as though we were in the south with You and Great Aunt Dobbin.
Good job we weren't Dan wouldn't have liked Dobbin singing Stand up...

I must say this is brilliant match report well done, I really enjoyed reading it.
One last thing I am sorry you had a nasty quins supporter near you at Twickenham, we are not all like that.
Can you do the report for all the Sarries games (as well as yours)?
I expect the national media will be queuing up to employ you as Sports Editor.

I loved the report the best ever report of a match. It must have been you doing all the shouting when Gavin came on we could hear it in the rous stand near the North Stand.

I am sure LI will win very soon it is our 2nd team and we come to Reading to watch LI occasionally we even have a LI top. I think your crowd are the best and friendliest of the premiership and you are proof of that. If you are not playing Sarries we always cheer you on.
GOOD LUCK in the Heineken and for the rest of the season, I am sure we will see LI and Sarries in the top 4.
