TFTM 2012 - 13: Mike Catt

Thanks for the Memories continues onto our departing backs coach, South African England legend Mike Catt. There were a lot of doubt expressed when Mike joined the club but he quickly silenced critics and became a firm favourite with the support.
Mike joined us in 2004, already a rugby legend for his time at Bath and as a World Cup winner with England, but he certainly didn't join us for a quiet end to his career. Mike was named premiership player of the season in 2006 and was in the England team for the 2007 World Cup. Although moving more into the coaching side in 2007, Mike's playing career continued - I'm sure we all remember that try at the Stoop in 2009. Mike left us to join the England coaching staff for the summer tour to South Africa, although at the time of writing it has not been confirmed if he will be a permanent member of the England set-up. Thanks Mike and good luck for the future.

Fav moment was at the stoop in the prem semi final (not when he scored the try and did a jig in front of the fans in the south stand) when Danny the drunk did a quick tap and go on a penalty and he tackled him big time ! Ref gave a penalty against him for not going back 10 but I watched him retreat and circle round to hit Care. He was raging as the ref was not as intelligent as he was...... Brilliant
