Le Whit Le Wooo - Our new Kiwi number 8

We were very excited about going to rugby today as Dobbin was going to sit in her own seat. It was ok last time in the disabled section but we are not really posh enough to sit in the West stand because we don’t have a butler and we missed all our Y22 friends.

Our nice friend from the club made sure we had a special place to park near our gate so Dobbin didn’t have to “hop” too far in the snow.

I was a bit sad that Tom was not playing and Mummy, Dobbin and Posh Totty(she would be ok in the West) were fed up that they would not be able to see Losi but is good that Brian let them have a rest. He really needs to make sure Matt gets a rest soon because he has been working very hard all season and we must look after him if we don’t want him to leave us and go to another club.
I was very happy to see my other special favourite player Shane was captain again, I like Shane he is always very kind to me. Dobbin and Mummy call him Shane, whit wooo, Geraghty and sing songs about him and say I love him; I just ignore them because they are very silly and immature.

Mostly in this report I will have to call the Bordeaux players “The French” because I don’t know any of their names.

This is how it went:

French player fell over, line out, French got it, JJ missed a ball but then got it and did a good kick. Scrum, Irish get it and a good bit by Matt. French player hurt, another scrum, French get it, Steve hurt but got up, line out, French get it but missed it when they threw it out, good catch by Marland, good tackle by Topsy.

At about 13 minutes French get try and conversion. 0 – 7

Good catch by captain Shane, scrum, French get it and kick it.

Line out, we get it a good tackle by Marland and another good bit by Shane. Another line out, we get it, baby fight, good catch by Steve.

Irish try, Steve, Marland then JJ good work boys! Steve kicks, Steve scores 7-7.

Good catch by Matt, but French end up with the ball. A very good bit by Shane and Marland.

Marland gets a blue thing put up his shirt, we all wonder what it is but we hope it makes him feel better because he is playing very well and we don’t want him injured.

There is a little 1-1 fight Jamie and a French player, behave Jamie!

Line out French drop ball.

VERY VERY good bit by captain Shane.

Scrum, French get it but we end up with a penalty, Steve gets it 10-7.

Half time.

Half time was great fun watching Mummy, Dobbin and Posh Totty trying to do YMCA, as I said silly and immature, but they do have fun, it is just hard work for me to have to look after them all! We think Digger and Eek should do something like that every match then people might get used to jumping about and making a bit of noise because they just don’t do that enough anymore. By now my toes are very cold so mum does some writing for me because it is hard to write with cold toes. Dobbin wraps my toes up in her blanket.

Zippy captain Shane does a good bit with lots of fast ball.

Line out stolen by the French.

Good run by JJ, tackled a bit high but they get away with it and get a penalty, but they miss, Ha, Ha. Le, French have Le ball, roly poly and a brief hug! Drop goal attempt missed by French. James Arthur look-a-like referee is annoying Mum.

Mass replacement of whole French front row Au Revoir and Bonjour, good job I learnt French at school! Line out, Brian, you owe us a drink, Blaney throws it in and Irish get it.

Loads of shouting and cheering when Shane does a great run and nearly scores, we are sad he did not get the try he really deserved it! Bad French boys!

Line out, kick to corner lots of action near try line, no results this time but then try for Marland, Steve gets tricky kick 17-7.

Another good run by Shane.

Good run by Le French.

Brian off to make a quick get away so he does not have to get Dobbin and Posh Totty the drink he owes them. Not sure who came on.

French get it, juggle it and drop it. Line out and scrum, must be good for the French because their little drummer is having a great time and making lots of noise! 10 minutes to go, lots of stuff down French end but Shane get it and kicks it away down the field. 6 minutes to go.

Loads of scrummy bits but Irish do well and a good kick to touch by Shane, good tackle by JJ, 2 minutes to go. French knock forward, George off and beautiful eyes James Sandford comes on. Topsy goes off, 30 seconds to go 17-7

20 seconds to go 17-7

10 seconds to go 17-7

Shane gets ball and kicks it out, yipeeeeeeeeee! We won!

At the end of the match those silly grown ups started to try and make friends with one of the very handsome French players that dared to walk over to Y22, they were shouting and waving at him and he did laugh at them just like I do.

We now know his name because Dobbin looked it up on the internet it is Hugh Chalmers and this is his picture. So Brian if you need a new number 8 you know where to look!
