You can't win 'em all

London Irish's winning streak comes to an end. A team filled largely with youngsters were faced by a resolute and dogged team in Osprey's Premiership Select, who refused to be beaten. With 10 minutes on the clock (I guess, difficult to tell this season!) and over points up, the Osprey's came out fighting and took the win.
There's not much to say about this match, Irish received the kick off and decided to play from their 22 rather than attempt the traditional clear your lines game. We were turned over pretty easily and a flying attempt at tackle from the wing didn't get man or ball and Opsrey's had numbers and a try was scored in the corner, barely a minute in.
That could sum up all the tries in this match, Irish had the upper hand in the forwards but we did not have a clicking back-line, in spite of our first two tries scored by our two centres, it was really the forwards that had got us there. A number of times we had a flying winger come off his wing in defence and fail to get the man giving Osprey's valuable yards. A number of times we were turned over, usually in our half when the normal option would have been to hoof the ball out somewhere near the half way line!
However, as Dr Venter said after the match "If there was any game to lose this season - this was the one".
