The site moves into September, we have a world tour of Norn Iron. The very first impressions are that things are looking good for the upcoming season.

An Ed’s Diary – 2nd September 2003

The site continues to be quieter than it has been through most of the summer. It appears that next summer I am going to have to make sure August is covered for regular story updates as well as June and July. In total we managed 187k hits, not bad by any means but this was still our lowest monthly figure since February. Northampton narrowly piped us to the top spot. At least we now have the season proper upon us.

Last weekend the Craic team on tour was split between those who went to Marseille to watch France vs England and those, the majority I believe, who were in Belfast on the world tour of Norn Iron. The Belfast tour was great, particularly so in my case as I was revisiting my home town. It was a strangely pleasant experience to walk into the Crown Bar, a place I often drink in whilst I am in Belfast, and find a large group of friends and family there. After all the places be they Vallodolid, Toulouse or the Madstad I have shared the Craic with them here they were in my home town.

I was very pleased with the London Irish performance. The ball handling and recycling was a cut above anything we saw last year. The backs are running interesting lines and the feeling I get from having spoken to a few of the boys is positive. As I write this I am mildly optimistic about our chances for next season.

Subtel mails me to say that, with his new job, he is not going to get much online time during the day. He suggests that we appoint another editor. Once I receive this I mail Griff to as him if he would be interested. Quick as a flash he comes back accepting the challenge, this is good news indeed. I do the required work to set him up as a publisher and pass over passwords, etc. Before we go public with things I’d like him to have a look behind the scenes, make sure he is happy with how to do updates, etc.
