A bad refereeing decison costs us dear as we lose heavily to Gloucester. People do not seem to like the new site design but there is nothing we can do about it.
Ed's diary – 22nd April 2004
Gloucester 28 – 13 London Irish. If anything the scoreline flatters us. We were ten points down after five minutes. Somehow we managed to claw our way back to 13 – 13 just before half time. The disaster was a bad linesmans call just before half time. Rather than give a lineout 10m from our line to us, as he should have, he gave it to Glaws who then caught and drove over. After that the boys heads seemed to drop, the second half was all one way traffic.
The poll on the site redesign has ended up with a significant minority (38%) disliking it. There is not a lot any of us can do about it. What has irked me is the fact that we still quite often get blank spaces on the right hand side of the screen where ads should be. I’ve sent a mail off to John at Sportnetwork telling him this. No reply from him as yet but things seem to be a tad better, we shall see.
My work on the crowd stats is coming along nicely. At this stage I think it will provide me with ten or so stories to run with through the summer. I find it fascinating to look at the figures and try and work out what is behind them. Let’s hope that I’m not alone in that and that when I publish the series it doesn’t send everyone to sleep.
