Every month at least one player, as chosen by those on The Craic will be asked a set of 20 'If you could....' questions. Victim #1 is former LI and Ireland player, now our Director of Rugby, the man himself, Conor O'Shea.
If you could......
1. Replay any match for any team – which one would it be and why?
London Irish vs. Northampton
at Franklin’s Gardens. London Irish won 32 - 8, Niall Woods scored four tries,
we didn’t touch the ball, defended unbelievably well and every time we got it,
scored. It was a great feeling.
2. Enjoy a ‘champagne moment’ again in your career which one would it be and
why?
My first cap, actually any cap. You cannot describe the feeling of playing for your country.
3. Not be asked one question for the rest of your career what would it be?
“What injury finished your career?” Followed by “Did it hurt?”
4. Be a celebrity for the day who would you be?
Tiger Woods, so I could at least play one round of perfect golf in my life
5. Be another sports star for the day who would it be?
Seve Ballesteros / Tiger Woods
6. Have dinner with any 4 people from the past or present who would they be?
Dinner with my wife and three of my close friends / family. I’d hate the silence of not knowing my guests!
7. Witness one event from history what would it be?
Seamus Darby missing the goal that cost Kerry the 5 in a row all-Ireland in the 1980s
8. Go back in time and give advice to a 13-year-old (insert their name here)?
To all kids – take Roy Keane’s advice – ‘walk the walk don’t talk the talk.’ A lot of people want something and have skills and intelligence to do it, but won’t sacrifice what is necessary to achieve their goal.
9. Win any sporting event in the world?
US Masters
10. Try out a new sport what would it be?
Golf. I am a bad 11 at the moment
11. Have one extravagance what would it be?
Bang & Olufsen plasma screen with Sky Plus
12. Only ever eat one meal again what would it be ?
Bacon, cabbage and parsley sauce
13. Live anywhere else in the world where would it be?
On a plot of land overlooking Kenmare Bay and Kenmare Golf Club in Kerry, Ireland
14. Play for any other club which would it be and why?
I wouldn’t want to have played for any other
15. Tell us something about you that not many people know what would it be ?
You’ve guessed it now, I love golf
16. See into the future what do you expect to be doing ‘after rugby’ ?
I’ve gone into that future already
