Craic Sticks Are Here!

The greening of the Thames Valley continues, this time with the introduction of London Irish Craic Sticks. With a fair wind these are set to become a regular sight at all London Irish games, home and away.

What are Craic Sticks?

Craic Sticks are essentially heavy duty, reusable, balloons. They come in pairs, are about 2 feet long and 2.5 inches wide. When crashed together they make quite a thud. They are also very televisual, always attract the cameras, especially when used in large numbers. As you can see from the photo, they are very green!

They are very popular in the North American market (Called Thunder Stix), particularly at baseball and NFL. Thus far the only place I have seen them used to any effect in Europe was by Toulouse supporters at the last HC cup final.

We have taken delivery of 500 pairs of London Irish Craic sticks. Initially this was to be ready time for our St. Patrick's game festivities. We do however have the small matter of a cup semi-final in the meantime. The intention is to help paint Headingley green on the day…. and to have some fun along the way. If this lot goes down well then we’ll look at getting a larger quantity for the St. Patrick's game, the next LDH at Twickenham, indeed whatever the game. I somehow doubt those away grounds that are reluctant to accept drums could or would do anything to stop Craic Sticks.

What do they cost?

We are selling these at £2 a pair or three pairs for £5 any profit will be split between Baz Trek (The Imperial Cancer Research Fund) and our Supporter of the Season's nominated charity, The Nasio Trust. With a fair wind we should raise a couple of hundred quid for each charity on this batch alone.

How do I get them?

Quantities of 6 or more can be bought online now via Paypal, take the link below. I will also attempt to get some to MWM and The Allied Arms. For those going to the semi I will have a good supply with me. The key here is that we want to green both our own stadium and those we visit, I cannot stress just how good these look and sound if they are used in volume. To do that we need to shift volumes of these, if anyone has ideas on how they can assist me with shifting these I'd be grateful.
