How do YOU do it?

In the beginning there was a void and this bloke said (trying to avoid too much of a religious connotation here) "Why's there no rugby club for us?"

How do YOU do it

NB: I suggest you check out the walls of Sunbury for a more accurate description of the founding of LI Rugby Club.

And lo, it was built. And it was found enjoyable. And people came. And the club said "Caed Mille failte". And these people became known as Supporters. And the Supporters enjoyed the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

Anyway, several decades later ...

And from these Supporters were begat the London Irish Supporters Club. Not all Supporters wanted to join what was begat, but it was still begat and it co-existed peaceably with all. And lo it thrived. And lo it continues to thrive.

And the LISC do everything their ancestral Supporters did and do but also get the benefit of subscription subsidized away travel and events like barbeques and "Meet the Coaches" evenings. They also discourse with "the Management" on all Supporters' behalf.

And so the Supporters did what they always did and enjoyed the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways (including Will who beat the Bodhran).

And also, those Supporters who became LISC Members came to do what they always came to do and enjoyed the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And the club and All Supporters said "Caed Mille failte" and "There are no strangers in this bar. Just friends who have not yet met."

And lo, after a time, the elders of RU decided that this 'ere Rugby game needs "better organising" and "bigger grounds" and other stuff like that.

And so, LI needed to move from their hallowed Sunbury turf.

The Harlequins of the Stoop let us share their playing field but after a year (again read elsewhere for reasons) LI moved onto their new playing field called "The Madejski".

And lo, more Supporters came. Some came from the West and sat in the West, some came from the West and sat in the East. Some came from the East and sat in the East, and some came from the East and sat in the West.

And lo, some of them decided to also join the LISC.

And when the season began, The Supporters, old and new, came to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways (including Will who beat the Bodhran).

And also, those Supporters who became LISC Members, old and new, came to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And the club and All Supporters said "Caed Mille failte" and "There are no strangers in this bar. Just friends who have not yet met."

In these times, Brian, who lived in the land of the Dutch, said I can deliver to us some Green wigs. And he did. And some found them to their liking. And some did not. But on a day of mighty wind in 2002 at Harlequins of the Stoop at the Semi Final of the cup known as Powergen, some Supporters were seen to wear these Green wigs for the first time.

And so the Supporters, old and new, some in green wigs, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways (including Will who beat the Bodhran).

And also, those Supporters who became LISC Members, old and new, some in green wigs, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And the club and All Supporters said "Caed Mille failte" and "There are no strangers in this bar. Just friends who have not yet met."

During these times, LI ventured onto foreign soils and on one of these visits, Chris the Fatboy from Reading said I will venture alone to the far side of the country of Ireland (with his wife actually, She wouldn't trust him on his own!) and find the maker of the Bodhran, Malachy Kearns be his name.

Other Supporters said, Chris, Fatboy from Reading, if you succeed, please bring us examples of his handiwork so that we too can join Will, who beat the Bodhran.

And so it came to pass that in Dublin, the EastieBeasties were begat. For although some came from the West and some came from the East, all sat in the East of the playing field called "THe Madejski".

And when the season began, The Supporters, old and new, some in green wigs, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways (including Will who beat the Bodhran).

And also, those Supporters who became LISC Members, old and new, some in green wigs, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And also, those Supporters who became the EastieBeasties, some who were LISC members too, some in green wigs, came to do what they always came to do and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And the club and All Supporters said "Caed Mille failte" and "here are no strangers in this bar. Just friends who have not yet met."

Venturing to support the efforts of the local team of the Hawks of Henley at their annual 7's competition, it was asked of the Supporters if they would like to organise a Rugby competition for supporters alongside their professional brethren.

Eek, of the motorcycle riding, tutu wearing Weebles, said I will organise this. And He did. And so were begat the Flatulent Fairies.

And "Dave", because she was good at this sort of thing, said I will design a shirt for our brave souls to wear and keep them warm in their efforts. And She Did. And it was Pink. And it was Green. And it was much sought after.

And Claire of Gosney, because she was good at this sort of thing, said I will make the rewards for the teams' efforts. And she did. And they were much sought after.

And so, many groups of Supporters from other Rugby Teams came to Henley to contest for Claire of Gosney's much sought after rewards at the tournament organised by Eek, of the motorcycle riding, tutu wearing Weebles.

And to make themselves different, these teams wore shirts different to each other and to The Pink and The Green of the Flatulent Fairies designed by "Dave" which was much sought after.

And The Flatulent Fairies were indeed (Very) warm in their efforts.
Andmany Charities benefited from this day.

And when the season began, The Supporters, old and new, some in green wigs, some in Pink and Green shirts, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways (including Will who beat the Bodhran).

And also, those Supporters who became LISC Members, old and new, some in green wigs, some in Pink and Green shirts, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

And also, those Supporters who became the EastieBeasties, old and new, some who were LISC members too, some in green wigs, some in Pink and Green shirts, continued to do what was always the case and enjoy the Rugby and the Craic. All in their individual ways.

To be continued .....

Because the Club and All Supporters say, however you want to Support this Club, "Caed Mille failte".
And whoever you are, you are not a stranger in this bar, you're just a friend I haven't met.
