Kenya Quins do double over champs KCB to clinch runners-up spot : Brave Kenya Quins 2ndXV come off second best in ESS Final versus Nakuru : Enterprise Cup Starts 29th July 2006 with Quins taking on Mombasa
Kenya Harlequin beat champs KCB RFC 18-8 over the weekend to finish second in the Kenya Cup League. Quins managed to do the double over KCB to make up for their disappointment at missing out on top honours. Nevertheless it was a solid performance from the Quins that saw them become the only team to dump the champs at their backyard this season. Two tries by Dennis 'Ogu' Keya and Edward Kinyany plus some fine kicking by Charles Cardovillis saw the Quins 'Galacticos' clinch the exciting game at the Den. Man of the Match was Charles Cardovillis with Frenchman Thomas Lebreton running him a close second.

In Nakuru the seconds put up a brave performance only to capitulate in the last ten minutes where the score was still close at 7-3. The Nakuru lads stepped up the gear to win the ESS 22-3 but the lads could afford to walk tall as they gave the performance of their lives in a Quins jersey. Kudos to them for their efforts.
This coming weekend sees Quins make the foray down to the coast where they will face Mombasa RFC in a quarterfinal knockout game of the Enterprise Cup. Mombasa attempting to make a comeback to big time rugby will be aiming to stop Quins in their tracks. Quins on the other hand will want to start the competition big thus sending a message to the rest that they intend to go all the way. We wish them all the best.
The seconds begin their Mwamba Cup campaign with a game against Mean Machine ll at the varsity grounds. All the best as the momentum is surely with them.
