A win at Franklin’s Gardens was a long time coming but a very satisfying victory against the Saints gives Quins a great opportunity for a top six finish and Heineken Cup slot.

ROUND 15

Predicted Total Points after Saints: 45  (originally 40pts for 11th)
Predicted Finish Position after Saints: 8th
Target now 8th spot because no points were expected from the trip to Northampton.

Quins bounced back from defeat at the Rec to put a smile on Deano’s face because relegation is now no more than a statistical long-shot. Of the teams below the ‘pastel-shaded Londoners’ only Irish managed a victory this weekend, which means that as much as Saints and Wuzz may huff and puff they aren’t picking up enough points to catch Quins. 

Our DOR has only 2 more victories penciled in for the rest of the season (Bristol & Irish) but needs to pick up an extra two and a couple of additional bonus points out of the remaining 7 games to have any hope of a top six finish. 

To finish in the top 6 Quins need to get 52-54 points. That is 11 wins and 8-10 bonus points 

So, not only does the once seemingly easy Bristol game remain a difficult ‘must-win’ banker, Deano also now needs wins at the Stoop against Wasps and Sale. After the spirit shown by the team in the Saints game the new target is a distinct possibility.
