I remember when the guys used to "strut their stuff and the new kit" etc just for STHs.

here here! I know it's for a very good cause but I still think the summer bbq and this event are what we used to get for free....................they're only after us for our money, so I am going to neither.

Quite agree, basically the free STH BBQ has been replaced by 2 paid for events.

Frankly I'm not sure I want a bag of goodies from Cosmopolitan magazine or whoever, or watch the boys be turned into some sort of kitsch fashionistas either.

Wont catch me there and unfortunately unless something is done to sort out the overcrowding/heat/service in the bars I will be spending more time in Twickers before the games.

£35 for a bunch of clothing retailers to plug their products? I think not. Spot on Babs.

I wouldn't have bothered with the fashion show but would have done the bbq but not at £26 a go. It's an absolute p*** take... and for what exactly?

A bit of nosh and a band? Then pay for your drinks all night on top of that? You are seeing this kind of thing more and more from the club nowadays. I appreciate that people can choose as they please but this just stands out as a complete rip off.

I hope hardly anyone bothers with it.

I won't be. All of that and a 150 mile round trip on a school night? No thanks.

Hi Chiggs, Yeah I know. Been going over 10 years now for my sins (tho last season made some of that pain worthwhile!!)
But in the past always liked to get to the ground early and spend some of my hard earned there. Just find it's becoming harder and harder to justify that. Last season, turning up at the members bar and being told it was too busy to allow me in (despite the £110 I HAVE to pay for the privilege) and walking around the back to see the place packed with away supporters really got my back up.
As you say it has become far more appealing to have a few down the road and just get to the ground in time (note I am always in my seat before KO!) to pick up a couple of pints and watch the match. I just find this a great shame. I know this is because we are far more popular now and last seasons success is entirely due to that, it's just I'm an old git and everything now seems to have been better in the past!

P.S I remember when this was all just fields. . . . . .

Ditto the above I remember the STH BBQ's and now we have to pay and at quite a hefty price think its money grabbing and although in theory I would love to attend I wont be, I amnot a wealthy supporter and relished the privilage of a STH free event this is shocking and hope not many show so the club re thinks its tactics here.

If they paid me £35 I wouldn't go but I won't lose any sleep over it.

... its all a bit of a rip off
- as a freebe with the ST it was a nice touch but as a paying event X 2, 3 or 4 its just not worth it
