FREE FLAGS FOR QUINS FANS GOING TO WEMBLEY

By Bill Ford-Smith
April 16 2010

We have several hundred Quartered flags to give out at Wembley to the travelling Quins support!

Quinssa have very kindly agreed to transport just shy of a thousand flags to Wembley for us and help distribute them outside the ground: the expectation is that we should be handing out the flags from around 16:00 in the vicinity of gate 'N' (in the South-West).

The flags will be handed out (free) on a first-come-first served basis, so come and find us as soon as you can (there are enough flags for about one in four of the expected Quins element of the crwod).

If you already have a flag from a previous game, please do bring it along: let's produce a serious block of multi-coloured support for the chaps!

Many thanks to Quinssa for their help.

Flags are at the ready.

Checked the poles are less than 1m in length.

Now I need to work out which shirt to wear.

Next they'll get a "theme" song.

QUIN KONG

It's something like "Wound up by the Saracen" isn't it? Cartainly was by the 200th time I'd heard it.

Their song was really starting to annoy me yesterday.

Maybe we should rework ABBAs Dancing Queen as Dancing Quins

Anyone know if there have been any spontaneous bursts of singing that song by the Sarries crowd at any games? I mean without the music of course. I would have thought that most Sarries fans would hate it.

It is a clever song as it includes the crowd as part of the backing vocal so it sounds like the fans were singing. How many were singing along is abother matter.

It is a bit naff to play the 'crowd' chanting as part of the song - anyone would think that Right Said Fred were miming to a backing track too winking smiley

I am surprised that The Pet Shop Boys haven t sued RSF for plagiarism

it is very much like Go West!

Didn't The Village People write 'Go West'? They did it in about 1979/80. You're right though. The chorus is a complete melodic copy.

Apart from that awful song, I thought Right Said Fred were fantastic. A real highlight!

Very very naff when the dominos bloke came and delivered a pizza to their mascot then they both grinned like morons whilst eating the pizza.

still, when you play that well i suppose you can get away with the other rubbish

wish we'd poduced that sort of performance at BG2

I think the Club should take note of the entertainment offered at Wembley. I thought the gymnasts were great fun to watch. The War Horse section was quite impressive.

I am always surprised that we do not make better use of the Military School of Music for our games as it is next door to the Big Stoop. The Airforce Band entertained the crowd both inside and outside of Wembley Stadium.

Sarries have taken a bold step of having 4 games each season at Wembley. Do you see Quins making more use of our Big Games?

It was nice to see Sarries' equivalent of our Harley's Angels on the pitch at half time with their 'cheerleaders'. I'm not sure what happened to the dance troupe for the girls but there is no reason why they couldn't dance alongside the LV= people in the same way. I always thought it was good of Quins to have that so that the littler girls could get involved in something at the club while their brothers played minis.

As for that song . . . UGH! And surely the Domino's guy was at the wrong ground??!
