Got Your Summer Planned?

You’ve got the Pimms, the orange, the lemon, a cucumber, a strawberry. You’ve got mint growing in the garden so you can use that. You’ve got the lemonade or ginger ale (actually, for a slightly different experience try coca-cola!).
You’ve got the bread, butter, more cucumber and a side of salmon for the sandwiches. Also canapés, crudities and vol-au-vents. If it’s around tea time you’ll have jam tarts, crumpets, scones with clotted cream, homemade jams mmmmmm........
Now when are you going to have this party? Is it one of the matches on the Lions tour, is it for England’s tour of Argentina? Possibly later in the summer when the Quadrangular Tournament is on? Decisions, decisions! And so many places to go rooting around to try and find the various tour dates throughout the summer.
Well, never fear. Now there is one place to go look for all your International rugby planning. One single spreadsheet or calendar file to download and your days of frantically searching the web for different dates will be a thing of the past!
So without any further ado.....
The URL to subscribe to the .ics file is http://dok.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/rugby_fixtures.ics
NB The column names seem a bit strange, but these are to make it compatible with Google, Live/Outlook and Apple type calendars.
I tried using an Outlook.com calendar, but could find no way to delete a calendar once created.
I tried using a calendar on Icloud.com, but couldn’t find any way of uploading the calendar without actually using an Ipad/Iphone. I suspect Itunes comes into it somehow.
I ended up using Google. Simple to create a calendar, simple to import to it, simple to delete it.
And I just had to click on the .ics file for Outlook 2007 to create a calendar for me.
No doubt some of you more used to these various calendars can put me right on my mistakes.

Also, if you can subscribe to the .ics file then you'll automatically get dates updated when I upload a new file.

just remove the space after the "h" (I have to put one in to prevent the line being shortened.)
Just Google your calendar (e.g. "Google calendar") + .ics + subscribe to see how to do this.
However, if you load the .csv file into Excel and then use filters on the Description field, then it really rocks! See all the dates for any of the competitions.
