Tigers Shade Thriller

Quins almost did it again. Another last gasp thrilling win was on the cards when the lads fought their way back to within one converted score but, for once, Marcus and his men were unable to deliver.

They gave it their best shot, but against a well prepared and talented Tigers, they just came up short losing 35-29. The two points they did earn were very handy though - keeping the gap with fifth placed Saints to ten points, although our rivals for a play off place  have a game in hand.

We were made to pay for a slow start with Tigers scoring through Matt Scott, Ellis Genge and Tom Youngs, with only Nathan Earle able to reply.

The way we have been playing the full 80 minutes  meant that 21-5 was never a mountain and we came back with a penalty try.

It looked like more would be in the offing as Tigers went down temporarily to 13, but their defence was resolute and, ultimately, won them the game. 

We started the second half 29-12 down. Once again we refused to roll over  and second try for Earle followed by a  Luke Northmore score had us on the edge of our seats as we trailed by just six points going into the final minutes. Could Marcus Smith repeat his magic and get the winning points? 

He had a good try -for  once it was not to be.
