Tabai Matson's boys will go into the Premiership semi-final at Sarries with the benefit of a testing and highly entertaining work out at Chiefs. A crowd of almost 15,000 was royally entertained on the Jubilee weekend with no less than 13 tries and some superb skills on show.
Chiefs ran out 47-38 winners as they tested Quins across the pitch, while the visitors played more than their part as the scoreline suggests.
Meanwhile, Sarries were resting a lot of their stars in their hammering at Kingsholm. Matson's decision to keep his key players battle hardened was a risk, but one which could pay off.
He told the media: "The big thing to be fair was we didn't break anyone and that was probably the big thing, we got through reasonably unscathed.
"You come here and they've got a phenomenal team and there's always going to be positive intent, but it ended up being a bit of a festival match.
"If you're standing back looking at it as a fan it was entertaining, some really good tries, but I think for us we learnt a lot defensively. That's the big thing we'll take away leading into the semi-final."
Will Evans gave Quins a great start t only for Chiefs to cross three trimes in quick successions, while Matt Symons was in the bin.
Aaron Morris and Joe Simmonds croossed for their sides before half-time only for Ian Whitten and Louis Lynagh to keep it nip and tuck after the restart.
Phew. Jack Nowell put Exeter in front only for Lewis Gjaltema and Tyrone Green to put Quons back in front. Not for long as Marcus Street scored with Sam Maunder clinching it in the final minutes.
Things will be tighter next Saturday.
