Thrilling Stuff

Coaches won't agree but it's mistakes which often make for the most entertaining and thrilling rugby. Quins held on to beat Saints 35-29 in a match which had some great tries, big tackles and opportunities for both sides to win mainly becuase of enforced, and unenforced, handling errors. Saints lost because they dropped the ball more.

It was a great start for the home side going 14-0 up inside seven minutes. The first came as  Jack Musk easily driven over after a catch and drive then  Fraser Dingwall lost the ball with Lennox Anyanwu  taking the opportunity to cross.

Luke Northmore was the next benficiary of Saints' largesse  - however they got one back courtesy of Lewis Ludlam.

The visitors butchered several opportunities and then lost Salakaia-Loto for a high tackle on Will Evans. The result was a second try for Musk from a catch and drive.

Saints got back to 28-15 as Feeman took advantage of an overlap to stroll in. 

Saints were galvanised but thwarted again when Marcus Smith's tackle made Alex Coles drop the ball when he was over the line. Then a Ludlam effiort was chalked off for a double movement. Phew.

Cadan Murley  rubbed salt in the wound with a superb response down the left wing. However, Quins couldn't close the game out and Saints crossed twice through Furbank and James to get within a score.

Backs to the wall for the last five minutes but Quins held out. This is going to be some season.
