Harlequins Amateurs suffer heavy defeat

Result: We lost 82-0 Quins Amateurs started hard and finished hard despite the final scoreline...
From the start they knew their work was cut out: for one reason playing a team that play in a league two up from our league and for a second that we were forced to put out a very inexperienced side due to limited player availability.
However, it was a game that will stick in every player's memory of how this kind of scoreline is no excuse to give up. We played with our heads up till the last whistle making the opposition work hard for nearly every try. We made some ferocious tackles and made some good runs when we had the luxury of possession, but we were beaten by a good team, that were drilled and competent at making the overlap on the outside. With various players out of position we found this clinical play very hard to defend against.
Not a result to get too downheartened by, bearing in mind the circumstances, but time to re-gather and look towards a competive league season.
