The Season So Far: The Ladies have made an excellent account of themselves this year, currently lying 2nd in Division 1: South West with the best points difference and lowest points against in the league as well as a game in hand.

The number of friendlies they have had has enabled them to blood their many new and inexperienced players as well as trying seasoned campaigners in new positions. It is interesting to note that out of the 13 games played so far this season, the Ladies have only lost 2.

Rugby World Cup 2003

As well as enjoying the fantastic rugby on show during RWC 2003 in The Sun Inn (Richmond), the Ladies showed their support for the boys down under by sporting some particularly noticeable promotional t-shirts. The t-shirts have proved very popular with Quins fans and staff and a few even made the long trip to Oz.

A number of the Ladies players were also involved in TV, radio and broadsheet interviews on a female perspective on the World Cup. This media attention has really helped raise the profile of the Ladies Club as well as encourage new players to come and give rugby a try.

 

London Development Days

Harlequin Ladies organised 2 Regional Rugby Development Days for girl's in London. Held at Kingston Warriors RLFC and Beckenham RFC, over 70 U16 and U18 girls enjoyed learning and developing skills which will stand them in good stead for the games ahead of them. Headed up by England U19 Coach and Harlequin Ladies Captain Sam Marshall, 10 coaches helped to tailor the sessions to the girls' skill levels.

 

Which Side is Your Bread Buttered On?

Harlequin Ladies have registered for the Kingsmill's 'Free Kit for Clubs' scheme supported by the Daily Express and CCPR. The scheme hopes to provide much needed kit and equipment for local sports clubs as well as sowing the seeds of international sporting success. How can you help? Simply collect special tokens from promotional packs of Kingsmill which will be available until August 2004, and pass them onto the Harlequin Ladies so that we can exchange them for kit and equipment. Want to Play Rugby for Harlequins?

Harlequin Ladies are always on the lookout for new players. Whether an old-hand or a complete novice, we look forward to hearing from you. The Harlequin Ladies train on Wednesday and Friday nights from 7.30pm to 9pm on the training pitch behind the 1st XV pitch at The Stoop and matches are played on Sunday. For younger players, the U16 and U18 Academy Squads train on Friday nights from 6.30pm till 7.30pm at the same venue.
