That's going to be a busy weekend in mid April as things stand.... Sarries at home and Tigers away!

Sarries away at HQ... best time to play them as they'll probably be without their lions.

Very tough start to the season!

Get the toughies under the belt first Sarries at Twickenham yeah bin there done that! Tiggs home yeah done that on the way to the first at HQ! A nice week end in the pretty city to drain the bath! TALLLY HO!

Blimey, that is a lot of rugby to be played in September. If the club are serious about having a better year, we must win 4 of those first 5. Sarries at Twickenham will probably come down to what team they are able to field and if any need a break after the Lions. Ultimately, there are no easy games or those that are a given win, they just need to play what is in front of them.

For September, considering the amount of rugby to be played, they are going to have to be better at managing the squad.

A tough start to the season that. We can't afford to start as poorly as we have done in the past two seasons again. Will be interesting to attend the double header, as has been mentioned that is probably a good time to play Sarries.

I am really hoping for the first time in three seasons that pre-season goes well and the coaches can get the team to hit the ground running. That looks like a really tricky first month of the proper season with tough games and the LI fixture away which is a banana-skin if ever there was one.

Are we no longer big boys so they think they can 'do us' hence 2 Twickers games 😱

I'd rather play Sarries at HQ than at AP. Is it so very different to go to Twickenham rather than the Stoop ? I know the casual supporters are a pain but, come on guys, the team need us. Support makes a massive difference.

I should think I shall be at both of those!

I make no observation other than to say you would not want to be a Sale supporter who cannot make friday nights and I wonder exactly why it is that the Chiefs once again do not host on fridays ?

On a slightly more positive note it is good to see that far more fixtures are firmed up at this early stage and it seems that this policy will be continued.

Games at falcons and chiefs on a Friday or a Sunday do make it exceedingly difficult for the away fans. At least the other clubs are within a reasonable travelling distance .

Sale choose Friday nights I believe as there no.1 choice of kick off time.

They avoid the Wendy ball by playing Friday night. There is no problem in doing that consistently, the problem is when the fixtures are split as ours have been.

For many fans two Fridays is 2 too many. Don't see why we should have to do Fridays as other teams 'Cant". It's tough for everyone, why do Saints fans have to pick up the pieces for other clubs issues?

I'm going to bypass the Friday night issue, as for me, the main difficult games are the Sunday ones.

Its not a bad fixture list for us.

Whilst some of the lions players are out for a rest period, we get to play Sarries, Bath and possibly Quins, without some of their better players. Hopefully we'll avoid the likes of Itoje, George, M Vunipola, Williams, Watson, Joseph, Farrell, Marler, Sinkler, Kruis and Faletau.

When the Autumn internations come an deplete our side, we'll have to face Worcester & Sale, both away. Those should be winnable.

Come 6 nations, we'll come up against Bath and Exeter who could well have a number of international away. Bath especially!

then its the same old end of season run in... Sarries, Leicester & Wasps... just to make sure that if we are in the top 4 by then, we get the best chance of 3 kickings so that we don't get a playoff slot.

I hope you don't mind me posting on here but I was just wondering if anyone who is involved in a local rugby club might be interested in going on a weekend tour to watch Saints play away, and then combine that with playing a local rugby club on the other day.

I have been having a little battle with Saints on Facebook !

We all know that the new Chairman made a statement that all regular season games will be at Franklins Gardens for the 'forseeable future'. I will leave the interpretation of 'forseeable future' to others but I have repeatedly asked the club to define what constitutes a regular season game; in simple terms does that just mean eleven Premiership games or does it mean the league games plus three European pool games and two Anglo-Welsh games. To my mind a subtle yet important difference. The club appear very reluctant to actually make a definitive statement falling back on a little political double-talk.

Paranoid, yes of course, but its nice to know where we stand !
