Under 20's World Cup - young Saints impressing
Academy centre Fraser Dingwall helped England Under-20s to their second bonus-point victory of the World Rugby Under-20 Championship. Having beaten Argentina 39-18 in their opening fixture of the tournament, England followed that up with a 43-5 victory over Italy in Perpignan on Sunday. Dingwall was instrumental as England led 26-5 at the break with tries from Marcus Smith, Tom Parton and two for Ben Loader, while Smith kicked three conversions as they secured the four-try bonus-point before half-time.
Italy, who defeated Scotland in their opening fixture, responded through Antoine Koffi but it was all they could muster in a half dominated by Steve Bates' side. Second-half scores from Smith, Gabriel Ibitoye and Rory Brand made it a total of seven for England as they secured their second bonus-point win of the competition. The win gives England a maximum 10 points from two rounds and means that regardless of what happens when the pool stages conclude on Thursday, when they face Scotland, they cannot be reached at the top of the pool, having already secured a semi-final spot.
There were two other young Saints in action at the World Rugby Under-20 Championship, Devante Onojaife and Fraser Strachan featuring for Scotland as they took on Argentina in Perpignan. Scotland struggled to find their feet as Argentina shot to a 12-0 lead but a solo try from Callum McLelland just before the break put the side back in it. The momentum was initially with Scotland as they sent two penalties through via Charlie Chapman and held onto this score until the 70th minute. But Argentina dealt the final blow as they sent Mateo Carreras over before earning a penalty try with the last play.

He provided x2 great passes for tries for the Quins lad. Good in the air.
He stood out.
Painter may have got injured- I’m not sure but he didn’t appear after 1/2 time
You can see it on YouTube- worldrugby
If Grayson had been the kicker the margin would probably have been a lot greater as Hardwick's tee kicking was poor, although he kicked well from the hand. It will be interesting to see if they play Smith at 10 and continue with Grayson at 15
Presume Dingwall will be back for the next game.
