Announced. Heard about this last week and my reaction was that he’s a very good young guy. 6 foot and 15 odd stone so much bigger than Jamie Elliott, for example. Very abrasive too..... good signing.

He had zero chance of becoming a long term wallaby with the conveyor belt of islander imports flying on their wings.

I thought we needed more options at full back and we've now signed two decent prospects so I'm happy. I haven't watched much Super Rugby this year, can anyone give some insight?

A good try scorer, but also a skillful player. Heavily involved in a lot of backs moves, and runs very good support lines.

Wonder if he had a word with Mr Horne as well.

well of course he’d have spoken to Rob and Taqele. Boyd really is a draw for these guys.

Yeah there does seem to be a emphasis on improving the physical stature of our backline.
Be interesting too see if we bring in another centre.

I would like too see Harry M, given a shot at 13 to be honest. But depends if he would want too nail that down as his position or does he want too right for the 15 shirt.

Has all the attributes too be a very good 13, especially with some powerful wingers outside him.

We will see.

Totally agree, Harry could be a good 13. So far when he's played at 15 he's fumbled low balls, missed tackles or not read the play so is in the wrong place. When he has ball in hand and runs that's when he shows his skills.

Great step, great pace, looks to really take on and beat defenders.
Can’t wait to see him in our back line. Just the player we want. Talented, young and hungry.

Agree, agree, agree, so much conjecture about Harry at 15 which seems to have all begun with Eddie Jones comments. His best season was when he played mainly 12 and was making line breaks for fun, 12 or 13 for me and maybe next season his best chance is the 13 shirt.

Harry could play 10/12/13 or 15 but most important thing would be to sort out his defensive frailities and Id also like to see him use his size when needed.

But his hands, vision, skill, brain and boot, he has so much ability, I really hope he moves on with the coaches help.

Could be a big year for Harry and hopefully so

Just wondering if there is a Scottish connection, especially since he was educated at a Presbyterian school. If he can't get into the Wallabies maybe he could be coming over to be seen by Gregor.

This is great news, Saints need players with a little speciality to push on for long term success. We were a bit lacking in top wingers (when passed to) with George heading off and hopefully Tom Collins can step up as well. I wonder if Ken Pisi will feature much this year?

Clearly chosen for his pace which we have lacked at times. Ken Pisi was very much a fringe player for most of last season but he does respond well to challenges so can't be written off

'Tahs are looking short on wingers now as we've poached two of them.

Handy player for sure. Plays wing or 15, quick, strong, steps well and rides tackles easily by the look of it too. Looking good for next year.

If you're referring to my post it is not a dig. If a poster makes an obviously contentious statement eg "Dan Biggar certainly has a lot to prove", which actually means nothing, surely he/she can be challenged to substantiate it, especially as I would suggest it is a minority view about a player who has performed at the highest level.

I would suggest that if Biggar is selected for Wales, then hes proved himself.

Actually I am perfectly relaxed. Irony is difficult to communicate in the written word but I am fairly confident that he does not do irony. Not sure what WP's interventions were all about.

As much as I don't agree with Eif's agenda, I do actually agree with him on this one.
All joking aside Biggar has nothing to prove and we should have the wings pretty well covered now.
Positions 9,12,13 and 15 are all up for grabs. Some great prospects but need some proof before we can start saying we have a good back line. Tigers had a pretty good back line (on paper) last season and we beat them twice

I would argue that there are definitely questions to answer at 12/13 and 15.

12 Can Francis continue to improve and will he be able to play with the new man(men) taking over at 10.

13 Can we find a 13 capable of filling Horne's shoes? Luther can do a job at 13 but he does not have the same skill set. Will Dingwell be backed and step up? We probably signed someone i cant remember who might do a job too.

15 Will Harry stick to 15? If so can he keep improving and nail down the starting spot? Will Kellaway form a good challenge or even Tom Collins?

IF the above comes true we will have a great back line but at this point there are questions. I see plenty to be excited about though. Those players in attack are fantastic. If we can get the defense back to a decent level we might finish in the top 6.

Nothing like jumping onto the forum to have a gander at what other rugby fans and followers of the GB&G have to say...oh wait no its just another post of bickering and sh*tposting.

Can we just stick to the Rucking Fugby instead of flinging electronic turds at each-other like primates?

Why couldn’t Harry play 13? He’s quick, would have more space, wouldn’t have to do the crash ball defence work. I can see him doing some great arcing runs....

Added Davies (recent signing) in at 9.

For a very long time saints played a fairly limited game, forward domination particularly in set piece, followed by a short pass from 10 to a bulky 12 who put his head down and charged at the defence. reset repeat look for penalty and take points. Fairly simplistic but it worked. There where attempts to play a more expansive game we tried with Geraghty, Lamb etc but the skills and mindset just wasn't there, it did not work.
I fear it also did not gel because it was alien to the coaching set up and the way they structured the game.
This became even more evident when our forwards couldn't get on the front foot, did not compete at the breakdown, and started to backpedal in the scrum. There was no plan B.
We also lacked pace and power in some of not only the forwards but noticeable in the back line.
My reason for optimism, of course it may take its time to work through to match day, is a new coach with an eye for attacking rugby, see his present team.
A back line of pace and power, I would play Harry at 13 with his skills and Kellaway outside him they would frighten defences.
All I want to see is a rugby playing game plan that shows where the team are heading, we will lose a few along the way, in the early days probably more than we win, there have been a lot of changes.
But I for one can not wait.

What about the lad Worley, signed from Racing? He looks a prospect.

Forgot about Worley. As for Harry, im sure he could play 13 but i tried not to repeat players.

If Harry is to play 13, then just 13! Not a few games at 15, a few at 13, a few at 10 and a couple somewhere else.
