Apart from Pisi pretty much the same as Glaws (as originally selected with Haskell). Just Mallinder and Symons additional on the bench. Expect the two new wingers to play for thw Wanderers next.

I think Harry will be starting next week, just a matter of game time. Interested to see how Symons goes too, if given opportunity

I fear our Achilles heal is the back three 11 14 and 15, really hope they step up and prove me wrong.
Still not smitten with our front row especially against a big quins contingent. Would like to see Franks (played loose for NZ ) Dylan and Painter and hopefully will one day.
Back 5 look good just need to put a couple of stone of muscle on 4 5 and 8 and we will be away.
Nervous going into this one. but really hoping for the win
If only to see some positives on this Board.

With two attacking teams it promises to be an entertaining game.
No Brown, Horwill, Clifford or Sinkler for Quins will help our cause - though they still put 50 points on Sale.
Of everything, how Painter goes at tighthead when he comes on is what I'll be watching most closely. If he can help give us parity or even the upper hand at scrum time that transforms our chances for the season. IMHO.

Burrell needs to do a lot better in this game or I'd expect him to be dropped for the next one.
Really disappointing hit out from him last week. I think our back line will look a lot different when we've got Taqele and Mallinder starting but I don't think they'll be rushed in to the team.

As I said in an earlier thread but rather late in the day, Lennie Newman on BBC Radio Northampton felt that Franks was clearly playing out of position at TH and Glouc took advantage. We seem vulnerable when 1 of our THs is injured.

He also played a full on 70 minutes on Monday night & was pretty impressive

Haven’t two of our tight heads been injured until recently, Hill and JFR? I’m not sure if I imagined that or not.
For me Franks played brilliantly in the loose and did better in the scrum than Waller. So we should be changing our loose head not our right head.

Interesting comment from Boyd, reinforcing something he had said in preseason that he won't often have Grayson on the bench - he sees Biggar as an 80 minute player and doesn't want Grayson getting five and ten minutes here and there. Instead he will get full games when Biggar is away or injured.
That means that the plan against injury to Biggar is Francis to ten and Symonds to 12? For me Francis didn't shine at 10 last season and we looked better with Mallinder - plus Francis did look good at 12 on Saturday.....
It does mean we can stack the bench with forwards though....

If Burrel shows how he can knock people back in the tackle, pass with both hands, kick and not loose the ball in contact he may come onto Jones' radar. He needs to be aware of teammates around him when on the charge. hic!

Thats definitely what Mr Boyd said preseason, although it doesn't have to be Piers to 10 with Harry on the bench/pitch.

Just shows how people see things differently
I thought Brussow played very well
Disruptive in the breakdown
Great steal on the floor
Available to be first receiver to take the ball up
Played very well as link man between forwards and backs
Something we haven’t seen for a long time
Had to do a lot more work once Haskell pulled out
The first penalty for high tackle was technically a penalty but Brussow was trying to stop and turn at the same time
Thankfully he made the tackle because there wasn’t much after him and the try line
I would have feared a backrow of Ludlum Harrison and Gibson against Gloucester

Again Boyd summed up quite neatly with Brussow, it reflected the team in being great in parts and downright dumb in others! However he turned up on Monday and apologised, recognising that he was perhaps too fired up or excitable, I think he also suffered in being on the back foot too often.
He'll recalibrate and take a more measured approach I'm sure, plus having Hask there to help with some of it will help a lot - I'm a fan of Ludlam in quicker games but didn't see much on Saturday against a big pack.

I also don't mean to single Brussow out. Disciplne has been a consistent team failing for over a season now. In trying to establish new standards and consequences I thought the coaching team may have benched him for this one. Let's hope its being addressed in other ways....

I am with you Deesaint, loved Brussow last week, 6 penalties, 2 high tackles and 1 for foot in front of ball at ruck when he saw gap picked and went.. I wont knock him for that one.
He was an annoying pain in the @#$%& and everywhere.. same again please and with a better balanced back row, will be able to do more imho
Can see him just getting better n better as he works out refs n team gels more

Clearly 6 pens unacceptable but I loved every minute of his play. Agressuve and niggly and going in the right direction to justify his reputation.

I don’t think that is the right tone to set one game into a new regime.
