Yorkshire Carnegie snatched defeat from the jaws of victory last weekend when the squad let a first half lead slip to plunge to a 51-35 loss at Ealing Trailfinders in the first cup game of this campaign.
This weekend we are subjected to a "road trip". If you want to see the cup match against Bedford then you will need to get yourself to Selby on Saturday for a 2.30 kickoff.
Brush must be fuming at the second half performance last week. He has though, made just six changes to the side for the encounter with Bedford. McColl returns at fullback otherwise the backs remain as they were. A second game for Casson and Forsyth, paired in the centre, will hopefully lead to a settled partnership for the rest of the season. Seals keeps the 10 shirt which is good. If he ups his game he can push Joe - competition is good!
Mayhew starts at hooker, giving Asbo a much needed break, but there are several other changes to the pack. Imiolek and O'Donnell make up the front row. Brush is starting with Buzz at 6, Mayhew at 7 and Stedman at 8. Interesting. Is Ollie a better 8 than Buzz?
Whatever the outcome tomorrow I hope that our key players, some of whom are playing at Selby, all get through without injury and are raring to go when we get back to the important stuff - the league!
It would be foolish of me to predict a low scoring game so I am taking us to win, outscoring Bedford by 7 tries to 5. It should be fun.

In answer to your question "is Stedman a better 8 than Buzz", then the answer on the evidence of the Wasps pre-season friendly is "no". Ollie played 8 first half and Buzz second.
Interesting that Brush is playing around with the six shirt: Saull and Stedman have had their go - now it's Buzz's turn. But I forecast Beck getting it back next Friday.
Good problem for brush in the back row and pack in general. There are some good players who cannot get into the team at the moment.
