2 WINS SANDWICHED BETWEEN 2 RANK AWAY PERFORMACES

5-0 against a Stenny side, who this past weekend were put in their place by East Stirling. Things started to look up a hard fought victory against Peterhead and a comfortable 2-0 win against Elgin. Then came Saturday.
Thanks to work I wasn't subjected to Saturday's performance which by all accounts is just aswell. If it wasn't for Andy Reid it could of been a lot more than your typical smokie fishing boat from Auchmithie can catch in a day.
Just what is going on at Links Park. Home form seems to be ok only 1 defeat from 4 matches so far and that was in extra time while down to 10 men. The away form is the worrying aspect. Played 2 scored once had 8 against.
We have the players to be doing a lot better than we are away from home. The defence at home has looked solid with Higgins & McLeod looking solid and Tawse shining brighter than the sun after a shaky start. Why though is Chippy Fraser, after looking so good at left back been moved around the field for Stirling, who looks as fit as Andy Fordham on celebrity fit club.
The main focus point though is on the bench, just how many cooks do Montrose need? Wolecki, Robertson, Jimmy Lindsay & Mark Murray all shouting the odds. Lets get a grip and have just the one please.
We also have to introduce training in one place at least once a week. Instead of this 3 different training locations. How unsettling must it be on a Saturday to be in a team with players you only get to see for a few hours on match days. Trainign regimes etc can be across the board but putting it into practice with players you aren't training with is a different matter.
It all leads up to an intresting 2nd round Challenge Cup clah with Clyde tomorrow night. In true Montrose fashion after Saturdays heartache at Gayfield that we'll go out all guns blazing tomorrow night and win.
Another plus point through the mess we're in is Scott Michie who is getting back to match sharpness and is scoring the goals. Andy Rodgers is an ideal frontman to play with Michie if he only realises that football is a team game and he needs to pass the ball. Against Elgin it could easily of been 4 or 5 had Rodgers managed to pass the ball.
All in all lets get behind the players and show our support and hopefully the off field pantomine will draw to a close and we can concentrate on rising up the table
