The return of Jim Butter to Links Park looks like it will spell the end of Gary McGlynn's reign as the holder of the No 1 jersey for Montrose

Jim Butter from East Fife and Greig Smith, the former Brechin City defender, released by Peterhead, are the two newest faces at links Park. Butter's arrival marks his second spell at the club and must surely spell the end of Gary McGlynn's period at the club.

McGlynn has been a fine keeper for the Mo, and although eccentric and downright dangerous with his penalty box dribbling at times, is an amazingly agile shot-saver. He'll be missed between the sticks, and has saved the Mo from embarrassment on mny occasions.
