A Wolf in Throstle's clothing

A day out at Wembley, every football fans dream. Get dressed up in colours, create the party atmosphere and hop in the car for a Midlands to London trek for a chance to play in the FA Cup final. So what did I make of a day out at Wembley with 33,000 boinging Baggies as a Wolves fan?
It was a little difficult to not feel the buzz to be honest. Surfacing from bed at before 6am in the morning is not normally my forte, but the infectious excitement of the other half somehow pulled me through.
The 'pimping' of the car complete I felt mixed emotions. I have to admit it looked good clan in blue and white scarves, but I couldn't help feeling a little jealous that it wasn't my gold and black scarves hanging out of the windows.
Tiredness wore off the further down the motorway we got, passing hordes of Albion coaches and cars, all similarly decorated and the people inside full of the same dreams and high hopes.
The walk down Wembley way was in every way amazing, and the stadium every inch as impressive from the outside as I expected. Hats off to Baggies fans too, they certainly made the effort with the flags, scarves and other paraphernalia to make the day special.
Inside came more mixed emotions. The pre game playing of the Liquidator was a hard pill to swallow. Trying to keep ones mouth shut when every inch of you is dying to scream out the exact reverse of every other singer is quite a task. And once again I couldn't help but feel a little sad that it was them not us that were there.
Half way through the Liquidator I had the sudden urge to jump up and reveal the Wolves tattoo that had been well concealed by the clad our our stripey neighbours thus far. But sense prevailed and the urge wore off.
I won't go into too much detail about the game itself, I've already done the match report, but what I will say is Albion did themselves proud. I tried the typical response of getting every inch of my Wolves being to will Pompey on, but the moment had carried me away and even I found myself getting to my feet to encourage the Baggie boys along.
Post match, I was impressed with the attitude of the Albion fans. Singing as loud and proud on the journey back down Wembley way as they had on the way up. There was even a friendly rapport with the Coppers whose job it was to ensure the Tube station didn't become over crowded. Jokey chants of you can shove your helmets where the sun don't shine were greeted with friendly responses of "You lot not coming back next month then?".
Back on the Tube to the car it was time to reflect, disappointing result but a great day out. can't wait to do it with Wolves, I just hope they don't keep me waiting too long!

Well, I don't doubt your allegiance to Wolves, not even for one minute, Jem...
...but there's NO WAY that I could EVER bring myself to give that lot my support. In fact, I told my wife that, if she'd been a Boggie, she'd be making her way to Wembley without me. Sorry, but you've gotta draw the line somewhere, and for me it starts and ends where everything Albi*n is concerned.
However, no offence meant...I'm merely giving a different slant on things from my perspective. Just seeing Blue & White stripes is enough to bring on the old red mist where I'm concerned, let alone spend the bloody day out with them.
Still, I'm genuinely glad you enjoyed your day with the enemy. Personally, I take my hat off to you for having such a strong stomach, pet.

I feel nothing for them, not even hatred. And I wanted them to win to see the only surviving Prem club be eliminated and the Midlands to see a bit of success.
