Gera says no to Baggies offer

Midfielder Zoltan Gera will finally get his chance to return to the Premiership next season, but not with West Brom despite the clubs promotion to the Premier League at the end of lasst season. The 29 year old midfielder yesterday rejected a final offer from the club, which manager Tony Mowbray descibed as the best they could offer.
Interest in Gera has scaled far and wide, with the most publicised being from other Premiership clubs. But alleged interest from European clubs and Scottish side Celtic may well ean that Gera's long term future remains undecided.
It seems likely however that Gera, a key figure in Albion's promotion winning side this year, will remain in England, with Fulham, only just sneeking top flight survival, the current favourites to win his signature.
Gera joined the baggies in 2004, and after 4 years service at the Hawthorns can leave for free now that his contract has expired.
He has made 154 appearances and scored 25 goals during his time with Albion. Gaffer Tony Mowbray insists that there are no hard feelings towards Gera, and that the club wish him every success in his future career.
Or even if rumours are true Everton and Boro. But Fulham ?
That can only be for the money or the bright lights of London. If we can't even match wages for the likes of Fulham etc What chance does any promoted team have of competing in the premiership. Mind you if we wanted these players badly enough to stay. I'm sure we could.
