Baggies without Teixeira over Christmas

West Bromwich Albion look set to be without midfielder Filipe Teixeira throughout the Christmas and New Year period after the Portuguese star suffered a new injury set back. Originally named on the subs bench for Sunday's 2-1 victory over Manchester City, Mowbray was forced to make a late change after he picked up a groin injury during the pre match warm up.
The last minute change saw Pele take a place on the subs bench, although he did not make an appearance in his sides dramatic victory, their first in 10 games with Roman Bednar grabbing the winner deep into injury time.
News of the injury comes as a major blow to the player, who is still waiting to make his first Premiership start after sustaining a knee injury which kept him out of action for several months, including the final months of Albion's promotion season.
It also comes as a blow to gaffer Tony Mowbray, who is already without Paul Robinson for the coming game against Tottenham Hotspur after he received a suspension for his tally of yellow cards.
Robinson will be in contention for the Boxing day fixture at Stamford Bridge, although Teixeira looks set to be absent for several weeks.
