Boro charged by FA for conduct at West Brom
Halsey swamped

Middlesbrough have landed themselves in hot water thanks to the reaction of several of their players during their 3-0 defeat at West Brom last weekend. The Football Association yesterday charged Middlesbrough with failure to control their players after referee Mark Halsey was bombarded by Boro players during the aftermath of the red card shown to Didier Digard.
Digard was dismissed in the 62nd minute of the game, with Albion already 2 goals to the good. His two footed challenge on Borja Valero was enough to convince referee Mark Halsey that he should be dismissed from the game.
Yet as Digard made his way from the field, Halsey was swamped by Boro players in protest, and so chaotic was the protest that he dropped his cards in the pushing and shoving.
Stewart Downing was amongst those who finally restored order. But Afonso Alves, Robert Huth and Mido have landed their club in serious trouble as a result of their reactions.
Boro must respond to the FA charge by 4th February.
