Bittersweet news on the injury front

The injury headache continues at the Hawthorns as Tony Mowbray faces fresh selection problems ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Hull City. The defensive crisis was eased somewhat by the news that Abdoulaye Meite could feature for the first time since Boxing Day, and with Paul Robinson’s red card having been rescinded, he is available for selection tomorrow.

But there is little relief other than that, as Pele is the latest name to join those in the treatment room.  Pele could be fit to face Hull tomorrow, but is likely to require a late fitness test, as may Ryan Donk who continues to struggle to overcome a groin injury.

 

Leon Barnett has been ruled out for another fortnight, whilst Jonas Olsson has been sidelined for up to a month with tendonitis of the knee.

 

In better news however Gianni Zuiverloon came through the midweek clash with Manchester United unscathed and remains available for selection tomorrow.
