West Bromwich Albion’s 38 year old goalkeeper Dean Kiely has today signed a new one year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2010. Kiely, who has had to settle for a place on the bench since the arrival of Scott Carson during last summer, was due to be out of contract at the end of this season.

But today he put pen to paper on a one year contract extension, a deal which suits both player and club.

Last season Kiely won the Championship’s Golden glove award for the 18 clean sheets he kept in all competitions – fundamental to Albion’s promotion and impressive FA Cup run.
