Koren faces sideline stint

Baggies midfielder Robert Koren faces a stint of up to three or four weeks on the sidelines after being told that he will need an operation on a hernia. The news was expected by Koren, who missed yesterday's 4-0 thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday away from home.

Koren has been something of a first team regular so far this season, but West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo confirmed yesterday that the hernia, which is in his groin area, will be corrected by surgery - leaving Koren unlikely to return until after the new year.
