Miller makes long awaited comeback

West Bromwich Albion striker Ishmael Miller has made his long awaited comeback after completing 45 minutes of a training match. Miller has been absent from the Baggies squad since December 2008 with cruciate damage. But yesterday afternoon he played the first 45 minutes of a 4-1 victory over Port Vale in a training match.

Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo said today that he hoped the striker would be fit enough to start making first team appearances sometime in February.

Miller, who last appeared for Albion in a Premiership game against Portsmouth 13 months ago, was expected to be fit at the start of the season. But his progress was delayed after a tissue donation operation failed, requiring the striker to begin the whole surgery and recovery process again from scratch.
