New Poll: Would Jason Koumas be welcome back at Albion?

The transfer window may well be done and dusted for another January, but with the loan window still available movement of players between clubs is still on the cards. West Bromwich Albion gaffer Roberto Di Matteo today admitted that he has considered the prospect of bringing former Baggie Jason Koumas back to the Hawthorns on loan.

Jason Koumas spent six years with West Brom, but upset fans on several occassions and most prominantly when he refused to return to the Hawthorns after a loan spell with Cardiff City.  Upon his eventual return to Albion he won back the hearts of Baggies fans until his eventual departure to Premiership outfit Wigan Athletic.

So this week we ask you: Would Jason Koumas be welcome back at the Hawthorns?

I think he might find it hard to fit into the system we now have. He pretty much had a free reign when he was here, but he would have to be more structured and work hardeer in this set up. Koumas was an enigma, he has undoubted talent but he did not work for the team like Dorrans, Jara, etc who also have talent in abundance, but work their socks off. He is older and has not had much match practice, so I don't see where he would fit in. I would rather see Texeira in the team than Koumas.

Tend to agree with yer Chris, ref Tex. Because of his injury i don't think he has shown us as much as he could have. Shame really.

Koumas, Dear O dear it seems by the poll most are willing to forgive him. This guy walked out on us twice, Yes he Had talent, Will be interested to see if he still has it i suppose. If it were up to me, he would never wear our shirt again.

and PS welcome to the board Chris.

Wow, 79 votes on the poll already. It seems to be a topic which has captured everyone's imagination.

Personally I remember seeing Koumas at Molineux when he was onloan at Cardiff - just as all this stuff was kicking off about him refusing to come back to Albion. A great talent, run us ragged all game from what I remember, but his attitude was appalling. That being said, Albion will be measured by what they do on the football pitch this year, not off it, so I can perhaps understand why 50% of people would be happy to see him back.
